Natural bodybuilding develops muscle and body composition without banned performance-enhancing substances, relying on training, nutrition, recovery and discipline. Its purpose is sustainable progress, athlete health and fair competition.
Do “natural” and “tested” mean the same thing?
Yes. “Natural bodybuilding” and “tested bodybuilding” describe the same approach. The terminology differs, but the commitment to drug-tested competition is the same.
Core principles of natural progress
- Training: progressive overload, sound technique and long-term consistency.
- Nutrition: goal-appropriate calories and macronutrients without extreme practices.
- Recovery: sleep, rest and balanced training loads.
- Individual potential: progress rates and limits differ by athlete.
- Supplement responsibility: athletes are responsible for every product they use.
Fair competition and anti-doping controls
Natural status is verified rather than accepted only as a declaration. TDVG applies the INBA/PNBA 10-year natural requirement, the WADA Prohibited List in force on the competition date, unannounced in- and out-of-competition testing, selected polygraph checks, and long-term sample storage.
Read the TDVG Anti-Doping Rules.
What is TDVG?
TDVG (Türkiye Doğal Vücut Geliştirme) works to make natural bodybuilding in Türkiye more visible, trustworthy and accessible through athlete membership, competitions, international guidance and anti-doping processes.
The first planned TDVG event, TDVG Natural Classic, takes place in Gaziantep on 23 April 2027.
